Mastic Beach Redevelopment Project Update:
On December 17, 2024, the Town Board adopted a Positive Declaration requiring the preparation of a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (GEIS) for the proposed Neighborhood Road Revitalization Area Land Use Plan.
The GEIS will assess potential environmental impacts associated with the conceptual redevelopment plan.
A public scoping meeting was held on January 16, 2025, and the public comment period on the Scope for the GEIS was held open until February 28, 2025. The Final Scope for the GEIS which reflects input from the public dated March 12, 2025 is provided on the Towns Website.
Once the Draft GEIS is completed and accepted by the Town Board, it will be posted to the Town’s website and a public hearing will be scheduled. Details about that public hearing will be posted once scheduled and further instructions on how to provide comments.
